HCTV Temporary Pull Back on Services
Dear Valued Community,
Hardwick Community TV’s executive director (that’s me) will be taking maternity leave this January, expecting to return by May 1st at the latest. We have been working hard to find new staff so that we can continue our services as usual during this time. Unfortunately, those circumstances haven’t come to fruition on time. What this means is that we are forced to pull back some of our services this winter.
The biggest difference is that we won’t be able to offer live streaming service for basketball and Hardwick Select Board. For the select board meetings, you will still be able to join on Zoom if you can’t be present in person. All basketball and meetings will be recorded and made available the following business day or as soon as possible. Woodbury Select Board will also be recorded and made available the next day as usual.
We won’t be able to take requests for filming special events during this period. We plan to only cover the prescheduled basketball games (hopefully accommodating rescheduled games and play offs whenever possible) and regular select board meetings. We will try our best to record Town Meeting in person meetings as well.
For boys basketball, there will be a password to watch the games. There will be more information to follow about how to watch these games once the systems are put in place, no later than next week when our first home games are happening.
Making this decision was very hard because I know well how much people love watching the basketball games live, enabling friends and family from afar to participate in the moment. I did everything I could to avoid this scenario, so it’s with a heavy heart that I am sharing this news with you. I am so grateful for your understanding and support. I hope for another great season for our students!
Gratefully,
Elizabeth Rossano, “Liz on Tech”
HCTV Executive Director
