Charlie Cogbill shares his extensive research aimed at deciphering the character of the original New England forest encountered by the first European inhabitants of this region. Cogbill did this research by an exhaustive investigation of early New England land records and gleaning information on the original forests. Cogbill is an historical ecologist, an Associate of the Harvard Forest and is a member of PalEON, a project devoted to mapping the original forests. This program is generously sponsored by the Woodbury Conservation Commission and the Woodbury Fund.

Vermont Department of Fish & Wildlife’s Moose Project Leader Cedric Alexander presents at the Woodbury Community Library.

Project leader since 1991, Alexander has worked on several bird conservation projects over his career, and has been a member of the Department’s Big Game Management and State Lands teams since their inception. He shares a presentation on the history and current status of moose in Vermont, including the latest results from the department’s collared moose study.
